3 - How
much will I get for my item?
You will always receive 70% of
the final sale price.
4 -
Who determines the opening bid price?
You and your Really Good Seller set the
starting price for each auction. Tip: Keep in
mind that you want people to start the bidding. Probably one
of the biggest drawbacks a seller can make is listing an
item at too high an opening bid. This discourages potential
bidders from tracking the auction or placing a bid and they
move onto a similar item. You can however place a reserve
price on your item so it can not be sold for less than what
you are willing to sell it for.
5 - When do I pay the commission
and fees?
We take our commission from the money the auction winner
sends us. Your Really Good Seller will discuss with
you the various ways to list your item and the costs
involved. One of the great features of eBay is the fact that
listing fees for items are generally very low, although if
you are not careful the listing fees can mount up. We share
the cost of listing with you on a 50/50 basis and your
RGS will collect your half upon agreement and signing
up.
6 - How long does it take to list
my items?
Please allow 1-3 days for market appraisal and
negotiation with yourself (depending on number of items).
After you and your RGS have determined starting price,
please allow 2-3 days for items to appear on eBay.
7 - How long does the auction run?
Auctions run for 7 days from start to finish unless
otherwise specified by seller. eBay offers a 3 day, 5 day
and 10 day option. eBay charges extra for the 10 day option
only.
8 - How and when are items shipped
to buyer?
We use a variety of shipping and postage options that will
be discussed with you. USPS, Mail, Parcel Post, FedEx, UPS,
Royal Mail, and occasionally independent carrier. Your
RGS will organise all this for you.
When: Item is not be shipped until buyer’s
payment has been received and cleared by bank. After payment
has cleared item is shipped within 24 hours. (Checks require
7-10 days to clear, credit card payments and money orders 1
day.) Most bidders pay instant cleared funds by PayPal,
eBay’s own secured payment system.
9 - Who pays for shipping costs and
boxing materials?
Buyer pays for shipping, insurance and delivery
confirmation.
The Really Good Seller is responsible for providing
all packaging materials.
10 What if buyer receives the
item damaged?
Your RGS uses extreme care in packaging your item so
that it is received by the buyer safely. However, should
postal loss or damage occur during transit, Seller is paid
for sale the same as a transaction of an undamaged item,
since all items are shipped insured; the carrier is
responsible for reimbursing the buyer for the full cost of
the item. Your RGS handles the transaction (filing
claim) with carrier to assist buyer in obtaining a refund.
11
When and
how do I get paid?
When: 3 - 7 days after customer receives item (money
back/feedback period). Delivery confirmation will show the
date the buyer receives the item. If positive feedback is
received (this is the case the majority of the time.)
Payment to seller is made by check once per week (twice,
depending on circumstances) and will be mailed to you or may
be picked up.
12 What if my item doesn’t
sell?
Because of the experience of our network and the personal
handling of your item, the chances of your item not selling
on eBay are unlikely although all depends on demand,
starting bid and condition of item. In the event that the
item doesn’t sell (no bids), there is no charge to you. Ebay
offer a facility to re-list any unsold items once and do not
charge the listing fees if the item sells. Your RGS
will discuss the next steps with you at the time.
13 What if the high bidder
doesn’t pay for my item?
With our system payment from buyer is required within 3 days
from auction end. If high bidder does not pay within this
time frame, item will be offered to the second highest
bidder. The RGS commission fee is based on that
selling price. Very few buyers do not pay on eBay because
they realise that negative feedback will be left by sellers.
Feedback is very important on eBay.
If there wasn’t a second bidder (or the second bidder
declines) then the options for re-listing will be
considered. Standard fees apply when item is sold after
re-listing.
